Miss Susan Young Brown, of Delaware, recently celebrated her 108th birthday! She is a super-centenarian. Born in 1918 in Houston, Delaware, Miss Brown grew up during segregation, helping her family on a farm without running water or electricity. She later attended Delaware State College for colored students, and, after graduating in 1945, spent 30 years teaching children across Delaware, including in a one room schoolhouse. She recently renewed her driver's license, and proudly quipped that it is good through 2033! At 108 years of age, she has been exercising at her local senior center for over 50 years, and she still performs floor exercises at home. She does not use any adaptive equipment (ex: cane or walker)!

AuthorI have over 39 years of diverse clinical experience specializing in the treatment of musculoskeletal pain syndromes due to adaptive muscle shortening and muscle imbalances of strength and flexibility. I treat competitive athletes, workers and the advanced elderly. They all have in common shortened musculature and some form of muscle imbalance. Treatment resolves pain, optimizes athletic potential, and among the elderly physical independence is restored. Archives
